This unique service will completely change the method of recycled waste disposal and collection, with Carndonagh, County Donegal being the first in the world to try it. Busy Green Bee™ – pollution free collections™ is unique in that it will exclusively use WPV (Wind Powered Vehicle), the first of their kind in Ireland to visit homes and businesses initially collecting glass, plastic, paper, tetra packs and cans, resulting in no noise or air pollution and a reduction in large vehicle congestion through suburban and public areas.

How it works: when a householder signs up for the service, they will be provided with a uniquely designed recycling bin or receptacle which houses five separate compartments-plastic, paper/cardboard, tin cans, tetra, glass. The receptacle is then emptied on a weekly basis for a fee of €2.50+VAT (€2.84) on a 12 month contract, paid in advance or quarterly.

The collected materials are then emptied into corresponding compartments (pods) on the electric collection vehicle, already separated and ready for recycling.

Advantages to Householder, our environment and community: The Busy Green Bee™ collects ALL recyclable material including glass as most amenity centres do not take glass. This also means no trips to the recycling centre with bottles and containers leaking into your car, no fuel costs, less fumes and a better environment, as well as a substantial saving in your pocket as most amenity centres are not a free service.

• Affordable service - At €2.84 (€2.50+VAT) per week or €147.50 per year, the householder can now afford to recycle their waste material as opposed to paying up to €500.00 per year that other waste collections charge.
• Ease of use - No more forgetting to buy expensive bin tags, missing your rubbish day or wheeling your heavy, smelly wheelie-bin in and out of your property in the rain. Once the Busy Green bin is placed in an accessible area on your property, you only need to fill it with recyclables. That’s all there is to it!
• Reduction of illegal dumping - The Busy Green Bee™ collection service is affordable and easy to use, reducing the two main reasons for illegal dumping, cost and effort of disposing household waste. Illegal dumping not only degrades where we live and can cause disease but also has a negative impact on local tourism in Ireland reducing employment and tourist money spent in our local communities.
•  Recycling of waste materials – Up until now, we have been using the wheelie bin method of disposing of our waste and thinking our waste is getting recycled into new products. Unfortunately, the waste material requires sorting and separating before it can be recycled or sold as raw materials to manufacturers around the world. This is an expensive, labour intensive process that in most cases is cheaper for the waste company to dump the recyclables into landfill sites.
• Pollution Free Collection™ - By using electric wind powered vehicles, there are no fuel emissions or pollution into the environment. No oil leaks on the road or smelly diesel fumes therefore there is minimal operation costs to run the vehicle helping to reduce our carbon footprint.
